About Me
I’m a senior frontend engineer who gravitates toward the systems other people avoid — 5+ years modernizing legacy codebases into type-safe, component-based architecture for Fortune 500 healthcare, data, and analytics platforms, without disrupting the production systems they depend on. At Spider Strategies, I set technical direction for an in-flight TypeScript migration, own the typed client layer I built to bridge our JavaScript/jQuery/Backbone frontend with a Java and Kotlin backend, and mentor engineers navigating the shift to modern patterns.
That instinct for untangling complexity started with a fullstack web development boot camp and an application developer apprenticeship at IBM, followed by several years shipping React and TypeScript products for healthcare and mobile teams. Full-stack conversational recipe assistant built solo on Next.js 15, React 19, tRPC, and Prisma.
- Shipped a tool-calling AI pipeline for recipe generation and a pgvector layer that semantically deduplicates suggestions.
- Built Stripe-gated subscription tiers end to end, from checkout through webhook-driven status sync.
- Reached 89% test coverage across 217 unit/integration tests plus 12 Playwright E2E specs; live in production with early users onboarded.
- Extracted the project's AI dev-agent tooling into the open-source @galosandoval/shopfloor package, a typed harness that runs Claude Code headlessly against GitHub issues, drafting PRs with guardrails and automated verification.
